1. Who we are and what this covers

POISE is the controller of personal data processed through the POISE mobile application and related services. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have.

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

2. Information we collect

a) Information you give us

  • No account required: the App does not ask you to register, log in, or give us your name or email. You use it without creating an account.
  • Onboarding answers: your confirmation that you are 18 or older, the goals you select, and optional profile details including gender, who you want to connect with or are attracted to, and self-reported anxiety or confidence levels. These answers stay on your device and are used only to tailor the challenge deck to your preferences. We do not collect or store them on our servers. Some of this is sensitive ("special category") data — see Section 4. You can use core parts of the App without providing it.
  • Your practice data: challenges you accept, complete, or skip; predicted-versus-actual reflections you log; written or voice notes; streaks and progress.
  • Community content: anything you choose to post to in-App community features (e.g. "The Commons"), which is shared on an anonymised basis with other users.
  • Practice-with-AI input: when you use the AI roleplay or debrief features, the text or voice you submit is processed to generate a response (see Section 6).
  • Support and correspondence: messages you send us.

b) Purchase information

Subscriptions are processed by Apple and managed for us by RevenueCat. We receive confirmation of your subscription status and transaction identifiers. We never receive or store your full payment-card details.

c) Information collected automatically

  • Usage and analytics data: features used, screens viewed, session length, and similar product analytics.
  • Device and technical data: device model, operating-system version, app version, language, and a device identifier.
  • Approximate location: only if you enable location features (e.g. nearby challenge suggestions). You can turn this off in your device settings.
  • Diagnostics: crash reports and performance data.
  • Push token: if you enable notifications.

4. Sensitive ("special category") data

Some onboarding details — such as your gender, the people you want to meet or are attracted to, and self-reported anxiety levels — may be treated as special-category or sensitive personal data. This information is held on your device, is used solely to personalise your challenges, and is not collected or stored on our servers. We process it only with your explicit consent. You can:

  • decline to provide it and still use core features,
  • change it at any time in settings, and
  • withdraw consent or delete it (this may limit personalisation).

We do not use this data for advertising and we do not sell it.

5. The community ("The Commons")

Content you post to community features is visible to other users. We display it anonymously (we do not show your name or email), but you should still never post anything you wouldn't want shared. We remove content that violates our Terms and can suspend accounts. See our Terms for the content rules and reporting tools.

6. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it with:

  • Apple — payments and app distribution.
  • RevenueCat — subscription management.
  • Service providers — trusted providers that operate the App on our behalf, including cloud hosting and storage, product analytics, crash reporting, and push notifications. They process your data only on our instructions.
  • AI providers — to power the optional AI practice features, the input you submit is processed to generate a response. Your data is not collected or used to train any models.
  • Authorities or third parties — where required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of anyone.
  • A successor entity — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We require our providers to protect your data and use it only on our instructions.

7. International transfers

Your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Where we transfer data out of the UK/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum). You can request a copy of the safeguards at valentino7007@gmail.com.

8. How long we keep your data

Your data stays on your device for as long as you keep the App installed. You can erase it instantly at any time using Reset in the App, or by deleting the App. We do not hold this data on our servers. Subscription records held by Apple and RevenueCat are retained under their own policies.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access, correct, or delete your data;
  • restrict or object to processing;
  • data portability;
  • withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing);
  • opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell or share for cross-context advertising); and
  • not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

Because your data stays on your device, you can erase it yourself at any time using Reset in the App, or by deleting the App. For any other request, contact valentino7007@gmail.com. EU/UK users may also complain to their local data-protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).

10. Security

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

The App is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact valentino7007@gmail.com and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you in the App.
